Some men who want to compliment random women on the street are creepy predators. Most are somewhere in between, and guess what? I don’t know you, I don’t know your life, and I have no idea if you’re going to leave it at “Hey, you look good in that dress!” or follow it up with “But you’d look better without it! Har har! C’mon, where’re you going? I know you heard me! Fucking cunt, nobody wants your fat ass anyway, bitch.”

When you compliment a random woman who doesn’t know you, no matter how nice you are about it, there’s a good chance she’s going to freak out internally because for all she knows, you could be that latter type. And I get that it’s really unfair that women would just assume that about you. I get that it sucks that sometimes, expressing totally reasonable opinions like “hey you’re hot” will make women terrified of you or furious at you. That’s not fair.

But if you’re going to lay the blame for that somewhere, for fuck’s sake, don’t blame the woman. Blame all the guys who have called her a bitch and a cunt for ignoring their advances. Blame all the guys who may have harassed, abused, or assaulted her in the past. Blame all the people who may never do such a thing themselves, but who were quick to blame her and tell her to just get over it. Blame the fact that if she stops and talks to you and then something bad happens, people will blame her for stopping and talking to you.

Resentment of the Day: Rapper Arrested for Refusing to Hand Over HIs Arizona Iced Tea

Who knew drinking iced tea in a parking lot could get you arrested? This footage of a plain clothes police officer arresting a man who apparently refused to hand over his Arizona Iced Tea has been making the rounds today, with many viewers calling it out as a clear abuse of authority. As seen in the video, the arresting officer refuses to properly identify himself while confronting rapper Christopher “Xstrav” Beatty and subsequently tackles him to the ground and places him in handcuffs for “trespassing.” According to the North Carolina Court System website, Beatty was arrested by officer Rick Libero and is being charged with Misdemeanor Second Degree Trespass and Misdemeanor Resisting Public Officer.

Note: A few skeptics on Reddit initially speculated that the footage may have been staged, but another video of Beatty being taken into police custody soon surfaced to confirm its authenticity.

i’m so excited to have a place with everyone

it’s just an incredible opportunity and we have a beautiful quirky house and i love it wholeheartedly and i can’t believe how fortunate we are

but at the same time i’m going to miss living at umass so much

i just have so many friends in so many places now that i just want to love everyone at the same time despite distance and schools and home and i’m just so grateful for this year and all that’s happened and i never want anyone to misconstrue what i’m trying to say as favoring some friends over other friends because i just can’t believe how many great people are in my life and i cherish all of them

i’m so excited to be where i am now

and i hate saying it but i’m so happy to not be living with my family because home doesn’t bring out the best in me

it’s also a pretty depressing place now since my grandpa moved in, mostly because he’s got a lot of baggage of his own and it’s expressed in ways that personally make me uncomfortable

and i honestly get along with my parents so much better when i’m not near them all the time

i don’t even know how to express how excited i am over moving in with dan

that’s like

something to celebrate

i feel like our relationship has had such a great flow and that this is all happening so naturally

i just hope that sheeba likes the place

that’s all that really matters
